Research interest

Fascinated by the dynamics and structures at the molecular level, I am studying the underlying mechanism of cell wall biogenesis and homeostasis in the model organisms E. coli and B. subtilis. To this end we are employing genetics in combination with cutting edge imaging approaches such as a combination of total internal reflection and structured illumination microscopy, as well as cryo-electron tomography.
